How we fit a carpet in your home.
The carpet isn’t glued to your floor. It’s held under tension around the edges of the room, so it stays flat, feels softer underfoot, and can be lifted again later without damaging the subfloor. Here’s the same job, step by step.

Preparing the subfloor
Every install starts with a clean base. We clear the subfloor of dust and debris before anything goes down, so the underlay and carpet sit flat with nothing trapped beneath.
Fixing the tack strips
Tack strips are set around the room’s perimeter, held back slightly from the wall. That gap is where the carpet gets tucked in later. On concrete we nail the strips down; over tile we bond them with adhesive instead, so nothing is drilled or cracked.
Laying the underlay
The underlay runs wall to wall, inside the tack strips, so the carpet sits level with no ridges or hollow spots underfoot. It’s what gives a floor that soft, solid feel, and it protects the carpet from the subfloor beneath, so it lasts longer.
Fitting the carpet
The carpet is cut to the room and fitted on site, then stretched into place with a knee kicker. Excess is trimmed along the edges and tucked into the gully between the wall and tack strip for a clean, seamless finish.
